Strengths Summary:

The resource is a comprehensive manual for teachers and educators in the area of violence prevention. The resource provides an overview of violence in society, with a focus on violence against women. It explores the roles of different stakeholders (administrators, teachers, school support staff, students, parents, community and survivors of violence ) in violence prevention and provides information on creating a safe school climate and promoting gender equality in a school setting. It also includes a list anti-violence resources for teachers to use in the classroom as well as a teacher resource package on media violence, dating violence and sexual harassment, and bullying. The resource also contains an accompanying video for teachers and administrators. The video offers information on violence in relationships and shows examples of prevention programs.
